About the Sedibeng District
Sedibeng was formerly known as the Vaal Triangle. It is the only area in the Gauteng Province, situated on the banks of both the Vaal River and Vaal Dam. Sedibeng’s Vaal Dam is South Africa’s second biggest dam by area and the fourth largest by volume.
The Sedibeng District Municipality is comprised of 3 Local Municipalities: Emfuleni Municipality, Lesedi Municipality and Midvaal Municipality.
The predominant Economic Sector in the Sedibeng District, is the manufacturing of fabricated metal and chemicals.
